About This Journey
Penglai sits at the northern tip of Shandong's peninsula — the legendary home of the Eight Immortals and the destination of Qin and Han emperors seeking elixir. This route starts at Penglai Pavilion, crosses the Bohai Strait by ferry to Changdao (Miaodao Islands), visiting century-old fishing villages and sea-erosion landscapes. Chase the famous sea mirage at dawn (most visible May–July), walk the Tianheng Mountain cliff boardwalk, and overnight at a island guesthouse with fresh Bohai seafood. Chinese guide + English interpreter throughout.

Arrive Yantai. Private transfer to Penglai (1.5 h coastal drive). Settle into seaside hotel. Evening visit to Penglai Pavilion for sunset.

5 AM ascent to catch the sea mirage (highest chance May–July). Visit Eight Immortals crossing site and Qi Jiguang's hometown. Afternoon boat trip to the reefs.
